Interpretation ideas portfolio
The idea portfolio is divided into four quadrants. These depend on the evaluation criteria and axes defined in each case, which you can adapt individually for yourself.
In the example shown below, three criteria were evaluated:
- The realization effort (x-axis)
- The innovation potential (y-axis)
- The cost to implement (circle size)
As a fourth point of reference, the points of an idea can also be used. These can be seen by moving the mouse over a circle. Here you can also see further details about an idea, e.g. how often an idea has been evaluated and, based on this, its proposed classification.
- Quadrant top left:
Ideas with a high innovation potential and low realization effort, so-called "low-hanging fruits".
Proposed classification: Incremental to progressive - Quadrant top right
Ideas with a high innovation potential and a medium - high realization effort. E.g. new product or service ideas or possible new business models.
Proposed classification: Progressive to radical - Quadrant bottom left
Ideas with a low innovation potential and low realization effort.
Proposed classification: idea pool - Quadrant bottom right
Ideas with a low innovation potential and high realization effort.
Proposed classification: Not Relevant
